Thursday Evening Practice at Inscapes

Person sitting meditation or praying

“It is natural for thoughts to come and go.”

- Carol Ann Gotch

Over the past 5 months Inscapes has offered a monthly contemplative evening, which was led by community member Graeme.  Due to positive feedback received, we have decided to expand this offering to weekly gatherings on Thursday evenings within a variety of contemplative practices.

At the heart of this offering is the intention to come together in quiet.  Whether we name it meditation, prayer or something else, it is an invitation to collectively call our attention inward, where we may touch a quality of peace that can not be found in the outside world.

There will be opportunity for reflection and conversation after our quiet time for those who would like to include that in their practice.

There is no set fee for attending; donations in the spirit of ‘Dana’ are encouraged. Dana is a Pali word, which means “heartfelt giving”.

If you are interested in joining us for one or more of these offerings please email us (form below).  We will be sending out a weekly reminder and asking people to rsvp their attendance weekly.

TIME: 7:00pm - 8:00 pm Central Time

THERE IS NO SET FEE FOR THIS EVENT: donations accepted.

LOCATION:

47 Bronstone Blvd. Winnipeg.

About Kathleen:

After seeing a poster at St. Benedict’s  Monastery which promised an antidote to the busyness of daily life, Kathleen started her journey with Centering Prayer.  It has proven to be a humbling and encouraging experience that has kept her faithful to the practice. She has caught a glimmer of the healing that has come from gently surrendering her thoughts to be in the present moment as it is, warts and all.
