We begin this meditation by selecting a concrete object to accompany us as we are guided around the 1-4-2-8-5-7 cycle of the Enneagram symbol. At 1, we choose an object in the room with us that is physically available to our senses; it could be anything but must feelright to us. At 4, we are led through an application of the senses into the emotional content, mood and feel of our object. At 2, we then consider our personal relationship with the object, how we appreciate it and like it. At 8, we absorb the object fully and take possession of it. At 5, we move to universalize it and make the whole world our object. At 7, we return to the present, to be with the object now, in this moment.
